I can be any of the 3 sizes in Gucci shoes but mostly 38-38.5. Now I am looking at shoes online in US sizes. Is the Gucci 38 the same as an 8 and the 38.5 as an 8.5? In some brands I can wear a 7 1/2. My foot is narrow so sometimes I need to wear a 7 1/2 in a medium, but I am moreof an 8 or 8 1/2 narrow. If Gucci conversion sizes haven’t changed over the years, I am probably an 8 or 8 1/2 in Gucci loafers. In the last 3 years, Gucci has changed the sizing on men's shoes to make them much more generous in almost every line. it started from the athletic shoes, moved into fashion and ended up in the classic line. I find that in Gucci I can be anything from a 38, 38.5. And in Fendi I can be a 38 or 39. Depends on the shoe, not just the brand. You really should try them on.
When I spoke to Gucci about the Princetown mules they said they felt the size was much more flexible in this style than in others, obviously due to the open back. For your own peace of mind it would be ideal if you could try the size 39 to see if they fit, but the fit of your shoes sounds about right.
Gucci's current size chart says that is equivalent to a US 9, but back when I bought them, I wore a 7. I grew to an 8 and they still fit me but tighter. They measured 9 7/8 inches long. Maybe you should take measurements of shoes that fit you and compare that to the measurements of shoes you see listed. B. The G stands for the special Gucci sizing, where a 37 G would be a 7.5 US, and a 37.5 regular European. Some of their sizing is in regular Euro sizing, some is the Gucci sizing.
